COVID-19: 79 travelers among 489 positive cases in J&K, tally gets closer to 19000 | KNO

Srinagar, July 28 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday recorded 489 fresh cases of COVID-19 pandemic including 79 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to near 18879. With 489 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 18879 including 14812 from Kashmir and 4067 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 470 new cases, 355 belong to Kashmir division while as 134 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 14812 including 8719 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 4067 including 2166 recoveries and 24 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7661 including 5784 from Kashmir division and 1877 from Jammu division. With 483 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 10885 which is 57.65 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent few days before. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 4277 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 4067 "Cases tested positive in J&K include 138 from Srinagar, 30 from Baramulla, 07 from Kulgam, 21 from Shopian, 04 from Anantnag, 28 from Kupwara, 39 from Pulwama, 32 from Budgam, 23 from Bandipora and 33 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 134 from Jammu division include 43 from Jammu, 19 from Kuthua, 23 from Rajouri, 08 from Udhampur, 23 from Ramban, 06 from Samba, 02 from Doda, 05 from Poonch, 0 from Kishtwar and 05 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 4273 positive cases including 98 deaths and 1717 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1815 including 64 deaths and 1280 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1475 including 1019 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Kulgam, 1412 including 20 deaths and 1056 recoveries are from Shopian, 1233 including 21 deaths and 924 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1066 including 735 recoveries and 20 deaths are from Kupwara, 1296 including 658 recoveries and 19 deaths are from Pulwama, 1183 including 660 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Budgam, 675 including 427 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Bandipora and 384 including 243 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 940 including 515 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Jammu district, 494 including 324 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 600 including 182 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Rajouri, 417 including 302 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur,  525 including 252 recoveries and one death are from Ramban, 392 including 221 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 259 including 124 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 192 including 139 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 129 including 51 recoveries are from Kishtwar and 119 including 56 recoveries are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin, 360,761 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 45,651 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7661 persons are in hospital isolation while 12 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 266,079 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,025 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 603,728 samples are available. Out of 603,728 the number of samples tested negative stands at 584,849 while as 18,879 have been tested positive, among them 7,661 are active and 10,885 persons have recovered—(KNO)
